Description
Gladioli Mixed Large Flowering – Corm size 8/10cm –
Gladiolus Mixed is a superb mixture of modern, large-flowered gladioli made up of multiple varieties for a bright, colourful summer display. These are ideal for borders and cutting gardens, with tall flower spikes that open progressively up the stem. Plant in spring in fertile, well-drained soil and position in sun or partial shade for best results. This mix is also suitable for pots and containers, especially where you want easy drainage control. For a longer flowering season, plant in succession from early March to the end of June at fortnightly intervals. Water as growth appears, and deadhead as blooms fade while leaving foliage to feed the corm for next year. Colours and variety mix can vary from batch to batch (this is part of the mixed-collection style).

Planting Guide (simple steps)
- Unpack corms on arrival and store cool, dry and airy if you cannot plant immediately.
- Plant in spring; for a longer season, plant in batches from early March to the end of May at fortnightly intervals.
- Choose a sunny (or lightly shaded) spot with well-drained soil; improve heavy soil with sand/grit.
- Plant corms about 10–15cm deep (around 15cm is ideal) and about 15cm apart.
- Water after planting and then water regularly as growth begins to appear.
- Stake in windy locations for straighter stems (optional but helpful).
- Deadhead as flowers fade; keep foliage growing through summer to feed the corm.
- In late autumn before hard frosts, lift, dry and store corms in a frost-free shed/garage for replanting next year.
Good to Know
- Gladioli grow from corms (a bulb-like underground stem), and corm size generally relates to flower performance.
- The name “sword lily” refers to the distinctive sword-shaped leaves.
- Planting in batches is one of the easiest ways to extend flowering right through summer.
- For best results in wet/cold areas, lifting and storing corms helps avoid winter rot and frost damage.
